Alone Star Jewelry Gallery

  • Gallery: Arwen Evenstar Pendant
The pendant is made entirely of PMC (precious metal clay or silver clay), using 18 gauge wire and a sterling setting for the blue topaz gemstone. We saw this beautiful pendant on the Internet and, of course, in the movie and thought it would be nice to make one for our Mom, who is a huge Lord Of The Rings fan! Shauna's.

Copper inlay with sterling silver discs. By Shauna.
  • Gallery: Beach Rocks
A fine silver pendant textured to represent ocean waves and the rocks deposited on the shore for us to find. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: Black Patina
Contrast is emphasized in this organic design, juxtaposing a dark background with the bright, light color of silver, all polished to a high shine. With the diminutive size--the disk is about the size of a dime--these earrings are a unique, pretty, and feminine piece of jewelry. Made by Shauna.
  • Gallery: Blue Topaz Flowers
I am in love with these earrings! The bronze domes are each set with a 6mm swiss blue topaz in a fine silver bezel as the center of the flower, which is a simple vehicle for the juxtaposition of blue and soft gold for a strong color impact. The bronze is treated, as in all of our bronze pieces, to prevent tarnishing. Blue topaz is known for its calming qualitites, for enhancement of spiritual and artistic growth, clarity and concentration! Disks are 1.25" in diameter, lightweight, and hang on sterling silver earwires. Designed and handcrafted by Shauna.
  • Gallery: Bronze Chrysoprase
Handmade bronze discs, each set with three 4mm chrysoprase cabs. By Shauna.
  • Gallery: Bronze Hill
These earrings remind me of hills, or desert sands, or even waves. The pendants are made from bronze, textured with a ball of wire I made just for that purpose. The elongated hoops are made from sterling wire that is hammered flat and balled up on the ends. By Shauna.
  • Gallery: Bronze Pyrite
Pretty bronze domes with a pyrite cabochon are earthy and elegant at the same time. It's a simple, classic design, but unusual with the use of the pyrite. Sometimes called "fool's gold", some say iron pyrite is a protective stone, warding off negative energy and physical danger. To me it is a cool-looking stone, with patches of gold and black color. By Shauna.
  • Gallery: Charmed By Pearls
Made exclusively for a customer to match the necklace of the same name. 14KY ear wires show off 14KY textured circles that hold dangles of freshwater pearls and 14KY round beads. The gold wire is hand curled at the ends to hold everything in place with style!
  • Gallery: Charmed by Pearls
Freshwater white rice pearls are knotted together on silk cord and accented with 14KY round beads. Handcrafted fine silver signature charm hangs at the 14KY lobster clasp.
  • Gallery: Silver and Copper Discs
You can probably tell that I like copper! I think silver and copper go so well together and here is another pair of earrings featuring both. I hand cut the copper discs from sheet, gave them a matte finish, and then treated them to avoid tarnishing. The silver discs are handcrafted from fine silver and have a nice, rich texture and polished to a high shine, which is a nice contrast to the matte finish of the copper. One earring has a 4mm Swiss Blue Topaz cabochon setting. I didn't want to leave the back side out of the action so I created a dainty, little heart, finishing again with a matte finish. All of this is held together with a small piece of Argentium Sterling silver wire, balled on one end and secured at the back with a small copper bead. The pair are lightweight and the blue topaz looks very pretty with the copper background. Lisa's.
  • Gallery: Copper Discs
These earrings were inspired by an old sketchbook drawing of an African artifact, probably a rattle or some kind of noisemaker. What appealed was the natural look of it, the handmade quality, which I tried to capture in these earrings. The silver handle is made of precious metal clay and given a diffuse, brushed finish. Wrapped sterling wire forms the bridge between the handle and the copper discs, and also forms the earwires, which are soldered to the back of the handles. The entire piece was given a black patina and then polished to give it an old, earthy look. Earrings measure 1.75" in length, and are so lightweight you barely feel them. Shauna.
  • Gallery: Copper Heart
Punched copper shows through the fine silver heart-shaped window. Pendant size is 1" wide by 1 1/8" tall. The handcrafted pendant hangs from a hand-formed sterling silver bail, which slides along on Greek natural leather cord. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: Corset Brooch
A cute and feminine corset brooch is just what every woman needs to complete an outfit! This handcrafted .999 fine silver corset is textured with a homemade fabric texture and laced up with blue Tenara (Gore-Tex) thread. Tenara thread is used in the marine industry and will not break from normal use. It is very durable yet drapes beautifully so is an excellent compliment to jewelry. Tiny freshwater pearls dangle from the ends of the thread and from the bottom of the corset. The straps loop over to form the bail. Pin is handmade from Argentium sterling silver. Brooch, including pin, is approximately 2-1/2" tall by 1-3/4" wide. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: Flourite earrings
The barely-green fluorite teardrops are softly faceted, and match the necklace drop to complete a set that has a feminine look you will love. Hammered sterling silver ball end wire creates movement and flash, and we love the delicate, feminine color of the fluorite, a stone that is supposed to bring enlightenment, and aid physical and mental healing! Just looking at the lovely color is soothing. Designer: Shauna
  • Gallery: Flourite necklace
Here's a very feminine and delicate-looking necklace. Sterling silver wire is hammered into a semicircle and wrapped with a piece of sterling ball end wire, and hammered again, creating the corrugated texture on the pendant, a scoop measuring 1.5 inches end to end. The large-linked flat cable chain completes the 18" length: the pendant lays right in the area of the collarbone--flattering and noticeable, and the semicircle design breaks the visual line of the chain, creating an interesting look. Finished with a fluorite teardrop that, with its subtle touch of color and translucence, adds to the delicate feel of this pretty necklace. See the matching earrings to read about the healing properties of this stone.  Designer: Shauna
  • Gallery: Golden Heart
A long time ago I made a puffed heart form out of Sculpey™ with the intent of creating a fine silver pendant. Well, it sat and sat being sorely neglected until recently when I bought a new texture stamp that I knew would be perfect for it. So, I rolled out my silver clay, applied the texture and then molded it over the heart. After perfecting, refining and firing it in the kiln, I decided it needed a little more "something" and I knew just what that "something" was! By Lisa
  • Gallery: Indian Summer
Solid sterling silver beads are woven on Greek leather, giving this bracelet a heavier feel. Clasped with a genuine Indian head nickel. Perfect for the man or woman in your life. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: In Stitches Brooch
Handmade out of .999 fine silver, this brooch is highly textured to allow the captured wires to really stand out. In Stitches represents absolutely nothing except for an abstract design, which leads itself to a conversation piece and shows the cool things you can accomplish using cold connections. The Argentium sterling silver wires are held in place with Irish waxed linen thread. The entire brooch, if you measure from wire tips and include the handmade Argentium sterling silver pin, is approximately 2" tall by 2-1/4" wide. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: Laced Up Brooch
The Laced Up brooch was designed to show off another way to achieve cold connections. This "vest" is laced together with gold, braided Strinth cord. The top edge of the .999 fine silver vest wraps over to form a bail for the handmade Argentium sterling silver pin. The entire brooch is approximately 2" tall by 1-1/4" wide, at the top. By Lisa.

  • Gallery: Seashell
This pendant is beautiful with so many kinds of beads, so we added a favorite, aventurine, the color of the Gulf when the wind slows and the sand settles. The 8.2-gram handcrafted fine silver pendant is finished with a soldered-on border of sterling twisted wire; we make our bail from 16-gauge sterling wire that is hammered flat and soldered closed. Little freshwater pearls add a frothy touch. Necklace is 18.5" in length and finished with a sterling S-hook clasp. Pendant measures 30mm in diameter.
  • Gallery: Serene
When I look at this ring I feel calm. I think the Swiss Blue Topaz stone is what does that because it softens the ring. The color of this stone is so pure and beautiful. The ring is handmade from fine silver. The square is approximately 1/2" square. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: Shadowbox pendant
Evoking a mysterious quality is always desirable in a work of art, no less a piece of fine jewelry. The Shadowbox is made of sterling silver, the interior shapes from precious metal clay (PMC). The simple architectural lines of this piece (21mm x 36mm, just under an inch wide) are highlighted by the simple unseamed snake chain. Rectangular clasp follows through on the design. By Shauna.

It's football season, the inspiration to add these earrings to our Texas collection. It's what happens when you are from Austin, and then attend the university--blood runs orange (I remember Dad hollering at the old Zenith when I was the size of a jackrabbit) and we are fans, people! These lightweight lovelies are made from fine silver, handmade with TLC and polished to a flashing shine. The pendant measures just under one inch from El Paso to the Sabine River as it hangs on sterling earwires. Show your pride! By Shauna.
  • Gallery: Turquoise Wrap
Sparkling Argentium sterling silver wire sets the stage for these awesome turquoise nuggets! Held inside the sterling loop by wrapping a smaller gauge of Argentium sterling silver wire, the turquoise nuggets appear suspended in air. The loop of silver, which forms the shape of the earrings, is fused together at the top and decorated with a wrap of Argentium sterling silver. Incorporated into these adorable earrings are sterling silver earwires. By Lisa.
  • Gallery: Country Girl
Country road, take me home! Handcrafted fine silver hearts are woven into a cobra braid made of Greek natural leather. Sterling silver wire is wrapped at each end, incorporating a sterling lobster clasp and ring. Great, comfortable weight. Can you see it? Of course, that's just our vision! The largest heart is just about 1".
  • Gallery: Silver on Leather - Lightening Bolt
I made my husband one of these Silver on Leather bracelets with the organic design and he never takes it off! My youngest son wanted one so I had him draw his own design. It turned out pretty good!
  • Gallery: Turquoise Triangle
I bought 2 of these beautiful turquoise cabs and stared at them for the longest time before deciding to set it in this simple, yet classic, setting. The base is Argentium sterling so it will resist tarnishing and the bezel is fine silver. I made the bail from Argentium sterling silver, balling the wire on each end and wrapping around 3 times. The chain is sterling cable with a sterling lobster clasp.

  • Gallery: Fisherman
Shauna made this bracelet for her husband Matt when he caught his first big bull red down on Bolivar. The plate is 14 grams of .999 pure silver that feels excellent with just the right weight on the wrist. It is securely held on a 4mm brown round leather cord and finished with Shauna's fabricated sterling silver side findings and a sterling twist clasp. The plate measures about 1.5". Thicker bracelets like this clasp to a smaller size, so we suggest fitting a strip of paper around the wrist, then measuring the strip for an accurate fit.
  • Gallery: Hinged
With this piece we found a new way to showcase the gorgeous Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochon, which was originally purchased by our Dad. These stones are so beautiful that we really needed a cool way to show them off! The pendant, made of fine silver, is a touch over 1" square and swings from a 20" unseamed snake chain. Sterling silver lobster clasp. Lisa's.

  • Gallery: Screened In Amethyst
I have no idea what inspired me to make the "screened in" pendants. I guess I would have to say I was trying to design a pendant that was unusual and very different. The name took a while but ultimately the piece reminded me of a window screen and it just stuck. The frame is crafted in fine silver and the screen of sterling silver wire, balled on each end. The 6mm amethyst stone sits in a sterling silver prong setting and the pendant hangs from an 18" sterling silver cable chain. Pendant size is just under 1 1/2" from wire tip to tip. Rectangular sterling silver clasp. Lisa's.
  • Gallery: Screened In Peridot
Here is the same pendant but with a peridot stone set in the opposite corner. I was very pleased with how these pendants turned out - truly unique! The 6mm peridot stone is set in a sterling silver prong setting and the pendant hangs from an 18" sterling silver cable chain. Pendant size is just under 1 1/2" from wire tip to tip. Rectangular sterling silver clasp. Lisa's.
  • Gallery: Silver Straws
These unique and fun earrings were made on the spur of the moment, my usual method! They measure 3 inches long, not including the handmade ear wires; perfect for a long, slender neck. Made of fine silver and resembling a straw with overlapping edges, the bottom edge is left natural and uneven. The design features a tiny heart, and peeking out of the bottom are copper and sterling headpins. The earring has a lovely soft matte finish, except for the shiny sterling balls on the headpins, and a slight dark patina makes the details stand out beautifully. Fun and entirely unique, these straws may look heavy but they are not! Lisa's.
